What is Web Devil?
Web Devil is a tool for downloading web pages and their associated images, textures, and links quickly and easily. Give it a URL and it will download all the items on that web page. It has an easy to use interface, is scriptable and recordable, and is fully multi-threaded so it won't hog the CPU.
What isn't Web Devil?
Web Devil is not a complete web site management tool. It was mainly designed to make it easy to grab textures and images off of web pages. It doesn't download secure (encrypted) pages. It will also not download items that are not directly referenced from the page (ie. it won't recursively follow links). We decided it best to get the product out as bug-free as possible at the expense of losing additional features.
What does Web Devil require to run?
Web Devil should run on any Macintosh running System 7 or greater with the Thread Manager (built-in to System 7.5 and greater) and MacTCP or Open Transport. It has been tested on a PowerMac 8500, 7500, 7200, and a 6100/60 running System 7.5.5 and 7.5.3.
How do I use Web Devil?
Using Web Devil is simple: Simply create a new Web Devil window (if one isn't already on the screen) by selecting New Web Devil from the file menu and then type in the web page you'd like to suck. Once you've typed it in, just click "Suck Web Page" and that's it. Web Devil will download the page, scan it for any links, and download them. It's that simple.
If you don't want certain files to be downloaded (eg. you don't want images), simply uncheck one or more of the options within the Web Devil window.
Balloon Help is completely supported so turn it on while you're running the application for more help.
How much does Web Devil cost?
Web Devil is shareware, which means if you like it and continue to use it, you should pay for it.
The cost is $10 for a single-user license, $100 for a site license (unlimited use at a single site), and $500 for a world-wide site license (unlimited use at as many sites as you need). All prices and options are also shown in the Register application as well as on our Online Registration Web Site.

"Aren't you afraid people will use it and not pay for it?"
No. Obviously, there’s no way I can tell if you’re using this application without paying for it nor would I even want to know. I do not believe in copy protection in any form for a number of reasons but, most importantly cause copy protection shows an unjustified distrust of the user. This is why there is no protection in this application, any other software I’ve written or will write in future. I do have a simple reminder that this application is shareware and should be purchased, if use is continued but, as stated above, clicking the “I Have Paid” checkbox in the preferences dialog removes this reminder. I feel this is the best method as I want the user to understand this application is shareware and requires a fee but, also do not want to annoy the user with copy protection that implies the user is not trustworthy and must show proof of payment. Your word is good enough for me.
Can I distribute Web Devil?
Yes, please do! You may distribute this application anyway you want as long as you include the full package and do not charge for it. Reasonable media and distribution costs excluded. I want as many people to get this as possible.
What did you use to create Web Devil?
Web Devil was written in C++ using CodeWarrior and PowerPlant. Resources were created and edited with Constructor and Resorcerer.
